Even during day hikes on local trails, I choose to carry my camera, and sometimes various lenses and a drone. Being outdoors should be enough, but I feel the need to capture images. This was one such day-hike on a local trail we visit often. We have seen this area with mostly green leaves, with almost no leaves, with branches covered in ice, and days like the one captured in the photos below, when colors are maybe at their peak diversity. I lack technique and patience. I walk with my family, and just stop and shoot. I tend to lag behind, but not enough to set up a tripod or study alternative compositions. I wish one day to have the patience and talent to do some proper landscape photography.
